Meaningful Role for a 1-3 PQE Plaintiff PI Lawyer in Canberra,
This opportunity suits a lawyer with 1 to 3 years PQE who has a solid plaintiff PI grounding and wants to develop a meaningful practice in institutional abuse.
It also suits someone already working in IA who is ready for a proper caseload with a national firm behind them.
The Role
You will step into an established caseload of around 110 matters, weighted roughly 85 percent institutional abuse.
You will run files with supervision if needed, acting for survivors and plaintiffs across redress schemes and civil claims against institutions.
Responsibilities
* Running IA matters from initial instructions through to resolution
* Drafting correspondence, statements and court documents
* Appearing at mediations, conferences and settlement negotiations
* Supporting senior practitioners on complex and high value matters
* Liaising with medical experts, agencies and institutions
* Maintaining strong client and referrer relationships
About You
* Admitted solicitor with 1 to 3 years PQE in plaintiff PI
* Institutional abuse experience is a plus, not essential
* Strong drafting, communication and client skills
* Emotionally resilient, grounded and empathetic
* Organised and comfortable managing volume
* Values collaboration, integrity and meaningful work
