An exciting opportunity is now available for a Permanent Part-time Driving Examiner to join the Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business's (CDSB) Cairns Customer Service Centre.

As a Driving Examiner, you will undertake practical driving assessments for Queensland Driver's Licences in a range of licence classes, for a wide range of applicants of diverse backgrounds using well-developed interpersonal skills to create a positive customer experience.
Former Customer Services Branch -TMR
This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery‑of‑Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the TMR Agreement conditions apply to this position.
As a Driving Examiner, you will undertake practical driving assessments for Queensland Driver's Licences in a range of licence classes, for a wide range of applicants of diverse backgrounds using well developed interpersonal skills to create a positive customer experience.
Requirements of the role
- An ability to engage and use effective communication skills that are adaptable to diverse members of the public, to create a positive experience while undertaking practical driving assessments and provide feedback.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the Act, Regulations, policies, and practices relating to the driver licence assessments and road usage.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of information through written reports and data entry on relevant computer systems. A basic ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and intranet/internet is necessary.
- To demonstrate a high level of skilled conduct as a representative of CDSB to work independently and unsupervised on a regular basis while undertaking assessments and engage with applicants and external stakeholders.
- For this specific position, it is highly desirable for applicants to have held an open HR or HC Class Driver Licence for a minimum of twelve months and have an acceptable traffic history.
