Why this Role?
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and support the social, emotional, and academic development of students identified under the NCCD.
Implement and oversee programs from external providers such as NDIS.
Apply restorative practices to support student engagement and wellbeing.
Maintain effective communication with parents and caregivers.
Collaborate with Deputy Principals, Heads of Department, Guidance Officers, and other support staff.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Student Wellbeing and Engagement
Provide direct support to students with disability through one-to-one and small-group interventions.
Build positive, professional relationships to promote student engagement, resilience and school connectedness.
Support students to develop social skills, emotional regulation and independence.
Assist with behaviour support and de-escalation strategies under guidance.
Support initiatives to improve attendance and positive behaviour.
2. Disability-Specific Support
Assist in implementing reasonable adjustments and inclusive practices.
Support students with routines, transitions and expectations aligned to support plans.
Promote dignity, inclusion and student voice.
Conduct screening and diagnostic assessment as required
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
3. Collaboration and Team Support
Work collaboratively with teachers, education support staff, guidance officers and wellbeing teams.
Communicate with parents/carers as directed.
Contribute to student support meetings.
Assist with referrals under direction including NDIS support workers
Uphold ethical conduct and confidentiality.
