**The Company**
The Next Step is partnering with one of the world's leading global logistics providers who have been around for 150 years and are passionate about shaping the way our world connects through their global exchange of goods through land, air, ocean freight and supply chain management. With a committed and passionate workforce, the People and Organisational Team are currently seeking a motivated, highly driven HR Coordinator/advisor who is wanting to take that next step up in their career as a HR Advisor (People and Organisational Officer) and be a value-add partner in quite a diverse role.

**The Role**
Sitting within the People and Organisational Team, this is a true HR Advisor role for a motivated, highly driven HR generalist who will be challenged by taking full ownership of the demands that come with a dynamic and complex environment.

Reporting to the P & O Business Partner you will be responsible for supporting the business to deliver people outcomes across the Employee Lifecycle which include:

- Supporting a group of approx. 130 employees;
- Managing employee relationships and acting as first point of contact for HR queries;
- Support Employee Relation matters including the grievance & disciplinary process through effective investigations;
- Support industrial negotiations and processes such as disciplinary proceedings, EBA negotiations and management of all industrial activities for the client group;
- Work closely with the HR team across the business to monitor, review and update HR practices aligned to legislative and business requirements;
- Work in partnership with Talent Acquisition specialists to source capable talent to business unit both internally and externally;
- Coaching and supporting line managers on performance management, employee relations, resourcing and staff management/development;
- Supporting the Employee Development & Training by recommending programs, facilitating programs where required and being an advocate of a learning culture.

Working in a blue-collar rich environment, this role requires a hands-on approach in dealing with HR matters and being able to partner with leaders is imperative.

The successful applicant will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (preferred)
- Prior experience in an HR Coordinator/ Junior HR Advisor or Generalist capacity
- Strong communication skills, experience with stakeholder engagement and enjoys nurturing relationships
- A team player who is comfortable to operate in a complex, evolving and fast paced environment
- Although there will be training and support provided, this person will ideally have an understanding and willingness to learn about Employee and Industrial Relations, as well as the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards

This role is based in Melbourne's West and will require travel between sites, so someone who is eager to partner with the business at the frontline is key A car/license is essential.
