Offer description

Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026 (HM25-HM30)

86 hours per fortnight

Full Time, Max Term February 2026 – January 2027

Echuca ED is experiencing a period of rapid growth with annual presentations around 30,000 and 20% paediatric presentations. We are looking for enthusiastic registrars to join our ED team in Echuca from February 2026 onwards. Positions are available as either 3, 6 or 12-month rotations for the 2026 clinical year.

We are a Tier 3 accredited ED. We welcome trainees who are interested in rotating to ERH from their base hospital and can provide the support required to ensure the process is seamless and allows you to remain linked in with your primary training site. ERH also runs its own fortnightly Critical Care Education Program and welcomes trainees with an interest in education to be involved in the ongoing design and delivery of the program.

You will work alongside an experienced and supportive group of 8 FACEMs, as well as other ACEM, rural generalist, ACRRM, and GP trainees, plus rotating HMO's and interns. We are accredited for TS4 and provide a supportive environment for trainees to take on supervised leadership roles and non-clinical portfolios that will support your transition to junior FACEM.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Deliver evidence-based care in a safe and timely manner in the Emergency Department in collaboration with other Senior and Visiting Medical Officers.
2. Undertake appropriate and efficient assessment and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency Department in accordance with triage categories and guidelines.
3. Effectively communicate with all stakeholders to pursue a high standard of care and ensure appropriate continuity of care.
4. Supervise and support medical and nursing staff who are more junior, consistent with their level of training and individual learning needs.
5. Actively participate in mandatory meetings as required and requested.

Qualifications/experience required:

* Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Membership with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM).

In addition, this position offers:

* Plenty of resus and procedural experience without competing with multiple other trainees for exposure.
* Access to aesthetic lists to develop intubation skills if desired.
* Opportunity to take on leadership roles on MET and code blue teams.
* A well-supported environment with a focus on teaching opportunities and support for completion of WBAs.

* Generous salary packaging opportunities to increase your take-home pay each fortnight.
* Flexible working arrangements.
* Experienced and supportive leaders who genuinely care about their team.
* Staff health and wellbeing programs.
* Opportunities to broaden your skillset and progress in your career.
* An independent and confidential Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.
