Job Description:
The Assistant House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily care of young people, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. This involves stepping in to lead during times when the supervisor is not present and maintaining a safe, healthy, and harmonious home environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding residential care workers, promoting therapeutic care practices, and ensuring the home runs smoothly. Strong leadership and the application of learned therapeutic techniques are essential in delivering high-quality care and ensuring a positive, supportive atmosphere for young people.
* Main Responsibilities
* Oversee daily care of young people
* Lead during supervisor's absence
* Maintain a safe and healthy home environment
* Guide residential care workers
* Promote therapeutic care practices
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A relevant diploma, including four additional mandatory competencies (top-up units) is essential
* Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, and support a team
* Proven ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties
* Experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment is preferred but not essential
