**Receptionist and First Aid Officer

ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Receptionist's prime responsibility is to attend to and/or direct enquiries from parents/carers,
staff, and students in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner reflecting the values and
beliefs of the College. This will be done either in person, by correspondence or over the
telephone. In addition, you will provide pastoral care and attend to first aid for students and staff
as required. The Receptionist's role is vital to the perceived image of the organisation by external
and internal customers, and it must reflect the overflow of a deep personal relationship with
Christ.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Receptionist will be accountable to the Business Manager.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills whilst working under pressure;
- Computer skills including intermediate knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word
and Excel;
- Multi-tasking, time-management, above average organisational and prioritisation skills;
and
- Knowledge of the operation of an educational facility with prior experience in a busy front
desk reception role would be an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current 'Paid' Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain prior to commencing;
- Current First Aid certificate with CPR in an education and childcare setting or be willing to
obtain one; and
- Basic nursing training (desirable).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and
distinguish objects;
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone and hear sounds
clearly up to 6 metres;
- Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal
conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups;
- Ability to exert up to 10 kg of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects;
- This type of work requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for
extended periods of time; and
- Sufficient manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects, operate
mechanical office and kitchen equipment, and move about the work area.

Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the Office in a manner that is
consistent with our Biblical values and beliefs;
Attend to enquiries, both on the telephone and in person, in a friendly and caring
manner, acknowledging that every person is a valued image-bearer of Christ, to
determine the purpose of enquiry and forward to the appropriate person or department;
