The Role
In this role you will provide Medical Orderly services and assistance to Medical, Nursing, and Para‐Medical staff in the lifting, positioning and general care of patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide Medical Orderly services and assistance to staff in the lifting, positioning and general care of patients throughout various operational areas within RHH.
* Transport patients within the hospital environment using wheelchairs, trolleys and beds.
* Respond to emergencies, including managing aggressive incidents as part of the Code Black Response Team.
* Conduct internal hospital security functions as directed.
Required Skills & Experience
* Knowledge of manual handling techniques and Work Health and Safety principles, including safe lifting and positioning of spinal patients and care of acute‐care patients.
* Knowledge and experience in emergency procedures (fire, bomb threats, evacuation, aggression) and understanding of Hospital Code Black Response Team procedures, or ability to acquire them rapidly.
* Well‐developed written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritise tasks, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with tact and diplomacy.
* Ability to work flexible hours and negotiate work hours with the successful applicant.
Details of Appointment
* Fixed‐term, casual for a 12‐month period, commencing as soon as possible.
* Hours to be negotiated.
* Selection process may be used for subsequent or similar casual vacancies.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $67,193 to $72,126 per annum (pro rata), plus shift loading where applicable. Employer superannuation contribution of 12% is on top of this amount. Plus 25% casual loading (equivalent $42.34 to $45.45 per hour).
Salary packaging includes living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
