The Position
The College is seeking applications from suitably qualified and committed Christian educators for the role of Secondary HASS / English Teacher for a 5‐week fixed term contract. The successful applicant will teach classes across Years 7–12 and will contribute to the continuity of the teaching program in both the Humanities and Social Sciences and English faculties.
This is an opportunity for a dedicated teacher to join a dynamic team and uphold the College's mission and values throughout the duration of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching in HASS and English across Years 7–12, aligned with the Australian Curriculum
* Create and maintain an engaging, well‐organised, and supportive learning environment
* Assess and report on student academic progress in line with College policies and timelines
* Apply effective and contemporary pedagogical practices
* Work collaboratively within faculty teams to ensure consistent curriculum delivery
* Model and uphold the Christian ethos and values of Brindabella Christian College
Essential Criteria
* A recognised teaching qualification with the ability to teach HASS and English at secondary level (Years 7–12)
* Current ACT Teacher Registration or eligibility to obtain
* Demonstrated effective classroom management and instructional skills
* Strong organisational and communication abilities
* A personal commitment to the Christian faith and support for the College's mission
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in an independent or Christian school setting
* Familiarity with digital learning tools and contemporary educational practices
