Role Description
The Permanency Support Program offers foster care and therapeutic care services designed to support children and young people in out-of-home care. We are seeking a dedicated Caseworker to deliver effective case work services, support carers and assist in the recruitment of foster and kinship carers.
Primary Objectives
* Provide services that meet the needs of children and young people in Out-of-Home-Care and Permanency Support Programs.
* Support foster and kinship carers in providing high-quality care and achieving positive outcomes.
* Establish collaborative relationships with specialist and mainstream services.
* Develop strong partnerships with Aboriginal and CALD agencies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a case load effectively and meet individual targets.
2. Develop, implement and review individual case plans to address the emotional, social, behavioural, developmental and educational needs of children and young people.
3. Safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people and report any concerns immediately.
4. Ensure case work practice aligns with organisational values, policies and frameworks.
Requirements
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.
* Tertiary qualification in social work or a relevant field.
* Demonstrated experience in casework practice preferably in Out-of-Home-Care.
* Proven ability to work with children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
