Role Summary
We're seeking an experienced Applications Engineer – C&I Turnkey to join our team and drive our new turnkey solution business across Australia and New Zealand.
In this role, you'll take charge of the technical design for our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Storage Turnkey solutions and play a key part in shaping the future of our business.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a deep understanding of all phases of turnkey PV + BESS projects.
* Analyze customer needs and technical constraints to ensure project feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
* Design optimal system sizes by evaluating available space, roof profiles, and usable areas—focusing on achieving the lowest Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) based on customer energy consumption and costs.
* Clearly define technical assumptions, exclusions, and project scopes to ensure transparency and alignment.
* Create detailed plant layouts and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
* Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for system components and materials.
* Assess and review technical deliverables from potential subcontractors and partners to ensure quality and compliance.
* Identify battery limits and clearly delineate scopes of work among various stakeholders.
* Collaborate closely with customers, Business Development Managers, Sales Managers, and Commercial Managers for Budget & Design.
* Support the creation of standardized tools and templates for future proposals and projects.
Qualifications/Skills
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in PV + BESS design or applications engineering.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related field).
* Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Proven expertise in LCOE calculations, plant layout design (including circuit sizing, grounding, and lightning protection) and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
* Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD.
