Now, we're looking for a Senior Urban Planner to join our Planning team and play a key role in managing the planning processes related to the strategic and statutory functions of the company.
About the Role
Assist the Structure Planning Manager & Manager – Planning with managing post-approvals processes to provide for the smooth implementation of authority approvals in partnership with other members of the developments team.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Provide planning expertise into prospective land acquisitions for future land development projects.
* Oversight of statutory planning at established estates in coordination with the Manager-Planning to ensure a consistent approach to estate planning and to achieve planning objectives.
* Act as an internal consultant in supporting Project and Marketing teams to progress statutory and strategic planning processes.
* As an integral member of the Developments planning team, proactively liaising with Councils and other authorities to manage and resolve planning issues, whilst maintaining key relationships.
* Provide planning expertise into master planning layouts in new acquisitions and existing projects, including appointing, and advising consultants as required.
* Assist the development team in securing secondary consents and amendments under planning permits to enable development to occur.
* Provide advice in relation to subdivision processes and regulations affecting developments.
* Maintain key relationships with consultants and legal advisors.
* Assist in the management of Panel, Advisory Committee and VCAT Hearings.
* Provide recommendations as to planning direction to the Manager-Planning, Structure Planning Manager, and others.
What We're Looking For
* 4+ years in statutory/strategic planning experience highly desirable.
* Good working knowledge of the Victorian Planning System and the Planning and Environment Act 1987, research skills, ability to read and understand policy.
* Local government planning experience highly desirable.
* Experience with growth areas planning highly desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
* Current Victorian driver's licence (desirable).
