**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 2 Pass Office Clerk within Security Enabling Services Branch.

The Pass Office team sits within the Security Enabling Services Branch which works closely with a diverse range of stakeholders providing security support services across the Australian Parliament House.

Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Pass Office Clerk will provide exceptional customer service, issuing Parliament House Access Cards, liaising with Parliamentarians, departmental staff, other government agencies, private groups and prepare correspondence pertaining to Access Card policy and management.

**Who we are looking for**:
The Pass Office operates from 9am to 4:50pm weekdays, with duties performed onsite. Due to the nature of the role, we are seeking applicants interested in working either Full-time, Part-time, Casual or Sessional hours. For Part-time and Casual work at minimum, there would be a requirement to work 2 - 3 days in the office during business hours. If you were interested in Sessional work, the same arrangement of 2 - 3 days onsite would apply, but only during parliamentary sitting periods.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to talk with a range of stakeholders, including high-profile stakeholders,
- Exceptional customer service skills, including high quality phone manner,
- Ability to comply and follow departmental policies and procedures regarding security pass issue,
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in undertaking pass issue related tasks, and
- The ability to use systems including record databases appropriately.

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

**Immediate supervisor**:Team Leader, Pass Office

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 2 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Issuing and controlling Parliament House Access Cards in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
- Liaising with Parliamentarians, departmental staff, other government agencies and private enterprise groups in relation to Access Card issues.
- Preparing correspondence pertaining to Access Card policy, issue and management.
- Operating and entering data within Pass Office database software and DPS electronic record management system.
- Contributing to the daily operations of the Pass Office, by performing the following sub functions:

- answering telephone and face to face customer enquiries,
- general filing and registry, and
- identifying consumable stock requirements.
- Other duties as required.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
