We’re a leading timber wall frames, roof trusses and floor trusses manufacturer servicing builders across Queensland. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on Health & Safety Advisor who can also support HR and onboarding to lift our safety culture and employee experience.

What you’ll do
Health, Safety & Environment (≈70%)
Own day-to-day WHS across production, yard and logistics; keep us compliant with the WHS Act (Qld) and relevant codes of practice
Conduct risk assessments, SWMS/JSA reviews, incident reporting & investigations (RCA, 5 Whys, fishbone), and drive close-out of corrective actions
Lead safety inductions, toolbox talks, and targeted training (manual handling, machine guarding, traffic management, PPE, powerline exclusion)
Perform site inspections & audits (machines, guarding, forklifts, saw shed, housekeeping/5S) and maintain the HSE calendar
Monitor contractor management, chemical registers/SDS, and emergency response drills
Track and report leading/lagging indicators; generate practical insights for supervisors and the CEO
Support continuous improvement projects (e.g., near-miss program, QA linkages, ISO 45001 readiness)
Coordinate recruitment administration and new-starter onboarding (inductions, licenses/tickets collection, policy sign-offs, uniforms, systems access)
Keep employee records current (training matrix, licenses, medicals) and help schedule mandatory refreshers
Support basic ER/people queries and escalate complex matters appropriately
Assist with culture and engagement activities; help roll out communications, recognition and training plans
What you’ll bring
Cert IV (or higher) in Work Health & Safety (essential)
Experience in manufacturing, construction or logistics environments (saws, CNC, forklifts, cranes/hiabs, load restraint)
Strong working knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation, risk management and incident investigation
Confident facilitator—clear, practical communicator with shop-floor credibility
Solid admin skills; comfortable with MS 365/SharePoint and HSE/HR systems
Current driver’s licence; Construction White Card (or willing to obtain)
