Strata Risk Specialist
The primary goal of this role is to contribute significantly to the achievement of strategic objectives related to revenue growth, client relationships, and service excellence within the department and branch.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective portfolio analysis, profit enhancement strategies, and retention initiatives.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders on book management strategy and maintain a unified voice with clients; provide feedback and possible solutions.
* Monitor/report on status of open claims for assigned accounts and make recommendations.
Underwriting Quality & Compliance:
* Adhere to underwriting, compliance, and file documentation standards to support business goals.
* Evaluate and accept or decline new lines, renewals, and endorsements within delegated authority.
* Recommend account trade-off decisions and provide input to Manager on profit analysis and premium planning.
Sales & Marketing: Broker and Key Account Management:
* Achieve individual sales targets as specified in the business plan.
* Develop an effective business development strategy to prospect for new business across product lines and broker segments.
* Actively manage the sales pipeline to identify and develop new business prospects.
Broker and Key Account Management Collaboration:
* Manage broker and key account relationships through proactive communication, visitation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to retain and grow the business.
* Visit producers to discuss risks, communicate business appetites, and produce new business.
* Monitor producers' performance by analysing quality, volume, and mix of business by producer, rectifying deviations, and communicating suggestions and results.
* Plan and execute a regular quality underwriting travel program to promote understanding of and support for underwriting and marketing goals.
Qualifications:
* Demonstrable ability to proactively identify and implement intelligent solutions to unique underwriting situations.
* Appropriate levels of subject matter expertise in pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer, and reserve development.
* Working knowledge of key accounts in the Branch.
* Understanding of underwriting appetites and associated relationships with interdepartmental accounts.
* Judgement, experience, and confidence to make recommendations for tailoring coverage and manuscripting policies.
