About the Role:
We're seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver high‑quality food service in a busy, fast‑paced café setting. You'll be working alongside a passionate barista team to provide memorable meals that match our coffee excellence.The position will report to our Head Chef/Kitchen Manager. Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Prepare and present brunch/lunch dishes from our seasonal menu, including Turkish Eggs, Huevos Rotos, fritters, rolls, pancakes, salads and vegan/gluten‑free options.
· Menu planning within the firm budget, based on client demand and market requirements.
· Ordering and managing food supply, food portion control, waste management, and stock procurement are all responsibilities (receipt and storage)
· Ability to cost menu items appropriately and track production efficiency.
· Collaborate closely with front‑of‑house and baristas to maintain a seamless café experience.
· Maintain kitchen efficiency and consistency, ensuring portion, taste and presentation standards are met.
· Uphold high standards of cleanliness and safe food handling at all times.
· Maintain high kitchen standards in all areas of operation, food hygiene and safety, food quality, and preparation.
· To mitigate risks and problems, and ensure compliance obligations are met, interpret and analyse all kitchen information, including kitchen reports, audits, and paperwork.
· Improve the kitchen's operating efficiency by adhering to and upgrading kitchen policy and procedure
About you
The successful candidate must satisfy the following criteria:
* At least a Trade Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
* At least 1–2 years experience in busy commercial kitchen.
* Experienced in menu execution, with experience in sautéing, plating and working at pace.
* Passionate about hospitality, quality ingredients, and collaborative teamwork.
* Available to work weekends (one of our busiest periods) — commitment to consistency across shifts.
* Flexible, reliable, and calm under pressure with strong attention to detail.

Salary: AUD 77,000 per year plus superannuation
