Maddington, Full Time, Manufacturing Vacancy Listing Dates 11/06/2025 to 9/07/2025 Please Quote Reference Number 12354 Immediate start available An attractive salary is on offer Maddington, WA location Impala has dedicated years to establishing itself as a leading toolmaker of custom plastic injection moulding for the mining industry, manufacturing exploration core trays, plastic core boxes, drill core trays, core sample storage, mineral sample trays, and core sample trays. Our modern, purpose-built factory includes state of the art equipment and our experienced toolmakers and operators ready to take your new product design to custom injection moulding. Our well-equipped engineering toolroom uses CAD and CAM software, allows tooling to be accurately manufactured on site and within a cost and time framework hard to match elsewhere. We require a Production Manager - Toolroom to join our team in Maddington, WA. The main focus is the planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating the manufacturing activities of our organisation, including physical and human resources. The role will involve reporting directly to the General Manager to monitor all production related activity which will involve mould maintenance & close cooperation & assistance with the injection moulding side of the business to monitor all tooling performance when maintenance is performed, assessment of tooling modifications to evaluate compliance with design criteria & mould trialling of new tooling as projects progress with key customers. The communication within Impala is considered key in achieving all goals set & we pride ourselves in the friendly nature of the workplace. Main Duties & Responsibilities to include but not limited to : Determining, implementing & monitoring production strategies, policies & plans. Planning details of production activities in terms of output quality & quantity, cost, time & labour requirements going forward. Control the operation of production plant & quality procedures through planning of maintenance which will involve extensive experience being fully versed with all CNC equipment recently upgraded & creation of CAD / CAM based drawings to produce tool paths for all machining processes & mould manufacture. Extensive working knowledge of plastic injection moulding equipment in order to effectively guide the team. Oversee all toolmaking production, manufacturing & repair activities including acquisition & installation of new plant & equipment. Training of toolroom staff in all aspects of machine tool function & maintenance. Schedule & Organise all maintenance to include re-working of tooling as required to be performed either by yourself or outside contract depending on the engineering discipline. Manage production targets generating reports / records as required. Maintain strong lines of communication with other key personnel. Report production related issues to the General Manager so additional resources maybe provided as required. All Maintenance of core tray moulds is always the first priority to keep this activity strong & will require regular monitoring of mould performance to establish maintenance requirements ongoing in whatever form they may take then report to the General Manager so all resources can be provided. Ongoing research into all production methods & suggest / implementation of new initiatives to ensure continual improvement in all areas of the business where possible. Ordering of all tooling supplies e.g. cutters / cutting fluid / machine oil / EDM wire etc from established tooling suppliers. Assist with moulding machine maintenance in a mechanical capacity all electrical work is carried out by outside technicians with the relevant trade tickets. Coordinating the implementation of occupational health & safety requirements & bring any & all concerns to the attention of the General Manager. To be considered you will need a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification and at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification employment experience in toolmaking with reference to plastic injection moulding. At least five years of relevant employment experience in toolmaking with reference to plastic injection moulding may substitute for the formal qualification.
