Job Title: Support Assistant
Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Assistant to work in mainstream primary schools, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual support plans, providing tailored literacy and numeracy support through intervention groups, and encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with mild to moderate SEN within a mainstream classroom
* Implementing individual support plans with the class teacher and SENDCo
* Providing literacy and numeracy support through small group interventions
* Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent approaches
* Supporting pupils with sensory or communication needs, including PECS, visual timetables, and Makaton
* Occasional support with personal care, where required
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS Child workforce - Must be on the update service
* 2x References are a must for this position
* Teaching Assistant – Level 2 Qualification or similar
