About The Q Train
Not *just* a restaurant, not *just* a train, The Q Train is a dining experience. Five days a week, The Q Train embarks on a three-hour return journey between Drysdale and Queenscliff. On a 36km round trip, at an average "speed" of 12km/hr, guests pass vineyards, olive groves, Australian bush, and the Ramsar-listed wetlands of Swan Bay.
Our kitchen team prepares a seasonal five-course menu that showcases produce from Geelong, Bellarine and the Otways.
We're a diverse team of 30, spread across kitchen, front of house, train maintenance and administration. We're committed to inclusion and work/life balance – no split shifts here
The Q Train operates on Wadawurrung Country, and we acknowledge Wadawurrung as the Traditional Owners of the area we call the Bellarine. We're committed to reconciliation and encourage First Nations Peoples to apply for this role.
About The Role
We're looking for a second apprentice chef to join our busy kitchen team. This is a full-time role that includes weekends, trade school, service shifts and prep days.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to:
* Prioritise trade school attendance and performance
* Prepare and cook meals using given specifications and recipes
* Cook and serve meals efficiently onboard our small, moving train kitchen
* Participate in seasonal menu design and research
* Work as part of a team
Who We're Looking For

* Thrives on working in a team environment
* Is curious about local, seasonal produce
* Is friendly and professional
* Wants to learn and grow with the industry
