Family Support Counsellor Role
The Family Support Counsellor is a vital role in providing education, support, and counselling services to individuals, couples, and families. Centrecare offers quality professional counselling services across multiple locations, catering to diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored support plans for clients.
* Offer brief intervention supports to help clients navigate challenging situations.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of support services and make recommendations for improvement.
* Deliver evidence-based counselling and group interventions to promote positive change.
* Refer clients to mainstream specialist services and support groups when necessary.
* Provide valuable information and education to clients, carers, families, and service providers.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* A recognised tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work/Sciences, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, or Family Studies.
* A minimum of 3 years experience working with children and families who require complex support.
* Proficiency in case management and coordination of client services.
* Demonstrated expertise in intake, assessment, and case management processes.
* Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
