About The Role
As a State Manager, you will be the face of the organisation in your region, responsible for building a thriving, connected director community. You'll lead member engagement, oversee local councils and committees, and foster partnerships across business, government, and the not-for-profit sector. This strategic leadership role blends governance expertise with stakeholder engagement and team leadership to elevate our client’s presence and impact across Victoria and Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities
* Represent the business across Victoria & Tasmania, driving local engagement with members, councils, and political or business stakeholders.
* Lead and support a small, high-impact team, creating a collaborative, values-driven culture aligned with national goals.
* Develop and execute strategies to grow membership, expand local market presence, and improve the member experience.
* Drive the success of events and education programs tailored to local needs, ensuring relevance and connection with the director community.
* Provide insights into governance trends and issues, supporting our client’s national initiatives and public policy leadership.
Skills & Experience
* Strong knowledge of governance principles and ability to influence at Board and C-suite level.
* Proven experience in stakeholder and community engagement, preferably within a membership, NFP, or professional services environment.
* Skilled communicator with demonstrated ability to present, network, and influence at senior levels.
* Proficiency in using CRM platforms and data insights to drive strategy and performance.
