Summary:
The Blade Repair Mechanical Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of wind turbines at site level. This position involves inspecting, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical and hydraulic issues, as well as completing scheduled maintenance to ensure all components operate safely and efficiently. The role requires fitting and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate or repair turbine equipment, supporting both mechanical and electrical completions, while maintaining compliance with industry and site standards. Success in this position demands a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to ensure the reliable performance of wind turbines throughout their lifecycle. This role will be a travel based role across many Wind Farms throughout Australia.
* Responsibilities: Interpreting diagrams, drawings, specifications, and plans to determine suitable materials and sequence of operations
* Inspecting the exterior and physical integrity of wind turbine towers
* Climbing wind turbine towers to inspect or repair wind turbine equipment
* Performing routine maintenance on wind turbines
* Testing and troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic components and systems
* Measuring and marking out materials for fabrication
* Cutting, grinding, and shaping composite materials
* Replacing worn or malfunctioning components
* Collecting turbine data for testing or research and analysis
* Servicing underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fibre optic sensing and control systems
* Erecting machines and equipment on-site as required
* Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the organisation's associated policies and procedures
Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification
* Overseas Trade Qualification
* AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma including at least two years employment experience or minimum 3 years employment experience may substitute for qualification.

* Construction Card (white card)
Skills:
* Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the renewable energy sector
* Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
