EXTRUDER OPERATORS
Driver Hire is a leading transport and logistics recruitment company offering competitive pay rates and opportunities for casual, ongoing and permanent work.
We are sourcing for experienced Extruder Operators for our client in Ipswich, Qld.
The role is designed to take responsibility for the manufacture of a wide variety of existing custom products.
You will excel in your position by working as a team with the Extruder Operators in ensuring high levels of output and maintaining a safe, well organized shop floor.
Shifts start at 0630am with the potential for overtime after probation.
What you will be doing:
Responsible for the general operational duties of the extrusion lines such as, but not limited to:
o Setting and operating haul-off saws, printers, coilers, drop tables, vacuum spray tanks, pins, and dies.
o Selecting the appropriate coloured materials for batch runs.
o Accurately and effectively making changes to the extrusion line set up as required.
o Identifying machinery faults as required and attempting to solve or reporting the issues.
o Safely using a forklift, including Hubtex
For senior machine operators: identifying faults or errors with the vacuum loading systems:
o Responsible for correctly using raw materials in production by:
o Reading and understanding the work schedule prior to production.
o Accurately identifying the correct resin materials as per the order.
o Correctly determining silo levels and changing raw materials as needed.
o You will excel in your position by working as a team with the Extruder Operators in ensuring high levels of output and maintaining a protected, well organized shop floor.
Requirements:
o At least 3 months of experience in pipe extrusion operation or able to demonstrate aptitude.
o At least a Year 10 certificate or equivalent.
o Current High-Risk Forklift (LF) license
o Good to have - Mechanical understanding of machines and applications.
o Sound mechanical aptitude
o Trade qualified highly desirable but not essential
o Applicants with prior plastic industry experience will be highly regarded
