Job description
We are seeking experienced event operations staff to assist with the bump in, operational delivery, and bump out of Catering Logistics for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in March and April in Melbourne.

Role Overview

Bump In: Monday February 2 - Saturday Feb 28
Event week: Monday March 2 - Sunday March 8
Bump Out: Monday March 9 - Friday March 20
Schedule: Rotating roster (7.30am-5pm)
Expected Start Date: 2/2/2026
Supporting the catering functional area through the back of house logistical delivery to all corporate and public catering outlets and bars.
Pre-event you will be responsible for the acceptance of deliveries of beverage (soft drink, water, beers, wine, spirits) and stock to the event site warehouse. This stock will then be distributed to outlets across the event precinct and loaded into cool rooms and fridges. You will also assist in the installation of furniture and fixtures into outlets.
During the event, you will assist in the movement of stock across the event site to maintain adequate levels across all outlets.
Post-event you will be responsible for the pack down of outlets and the return of stock to the event site warehouse. You will help to stocktake all returned stock and pack it ready for dispatch to the next event or return to suppliers.
This is a hands-on, physical role, and you will be required to lift and move stock (up to 20kg).
Requirements:
* Steel cap boots for all Bump in & Out Days on site
* Hi-Viz vest for all Bump in & Out Days on site
* RSA (Mandatory)
* Valid Forklift Licence and experience operating (preferred not essential)
* Valid Drivers Licence
* White card (Construction Induction card) for all Bump In & Out Days on site (Mandatory)
We are looking for people who are willing to get involved with the process. You will take a hands-on approach and lead the crew by example. Experience in catering logistics in large events or venues preferred. You will have strong communication skills both written and verbal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR AREA MANAGERS
* Oversee daily operations within assigned zones Coordinate with forklift drivers, ops teams, supervisors, and catering leads
* Ensure setup and pack-down are completed safely and on schedule
* Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment Liaise between GEMA management and onsite teams
* Report incidents, issues, or delays in a timely manner Ensure safety standards and compliance across all work areas
* Maintain communication channels (radio/phone) throughout shifts
REQUIREMENTS FOR AREA MANAGER
* Previous experience in event operations, logistics, or team leadership Strong communication and coordination skills Ability to manage teams in fast-paced, outdoor environments High level of organisation and problem-solving Comfortable managing physically demanding environments
* High-vis vest & steel-capped boots
* RSA mandatory
* Availability across all days Feb 2 - March 20 (strongly preferred)
