**About the Role**:
The Fraud Fusion Taskforce has been established to improve payment integrity in the NDIS and other government programs and payments by preventing or reducing fraud and criminal activity (including serious organised crime and systemic fraud). The Taskforce enables intelligence sharing, identification and response by the NDIA and its partner agencies, including law enforcement and regulators.
The Fraud Intelligence and Analytics Branch detects and responds to internal and external fraud against the Scheme. The branch focus is on protecting the Scheme's financial sustainability, strengthening fraud control arrangements, and supporting the Fraud Fusion Taskforce to strengthen the Commonwealth's fraud detection and response capability.
The APS6 Project Officer will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems relating to fraud and other integrity issues that may affect the NDIA. It will be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the NDIA's objectives to "build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme".
**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:
- Support the development and implementation of project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework and considering project interdependencies.
- Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
- Completing regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Completing written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
- Identifying, assessing, managing, escalating, reporting and monitoring project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
- Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
