This role includes but is not limited to assisting with all month end reporting functions, budgeting, forecasting and any other ad hoc duties to assist the state accountant.
Minimal reception and cash office coverage will also be part of this role in instances where support is needed during leave or absence of responsible people.Primary Roles And ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance to the State AccountantAssist in the End of Month ProcessPreparing/Submitting JournalsRunning General LedgersAssist with SAI- System UpdatesAssist with cost/Stock ReviewsPreparing monthly reconciliationsAssist running monthly reportsAssist in budgeting/forecasting for both operations and capex (Capital Expenditure Process)Ad hoc duties to support the State AccountantReception coverage & Cash Office SupportAnswering the Switch Board CallsManaging the reception email box if neededGreeting customers & contractorsEnsuring customer & contractors are signed in to Rapid InductPaying and assisting customers in the cash office if neededReviewing Purchase Orders, Requisitions with the help of Purchasing OfficerDemonstrate personal responsibility for all Safety, Health, Environment,Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiativesSupport diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, and teamworkSupport measures designed to effectively manage costs and adherence to budgetary requirementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and quality requirementsComply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to jobSupport training and performance-management initiativesTo Be Successful You Will Need To DemonstrateWorking knowledge of financial concepts and processBasic understanding of scrap metal processing (desirable but not essential)Knowledge of business systems including but not limited to MicrosoftOffice, SAI, SAP (Training for the right candidate will be available)Proven customer service and communication skillsExperience with Microsoft and Accounting softwareTime management / organisation skillsAbility to be adaptable in approach to work, be able to set and achieve deadlinesAbility to work with minimal supervision and show initiativeHigh Attention to detailShow a willingness to learnIf you believe you meet the above criteria and would like to be considered, please apply now or email Hannah Limond at ******.
