About the Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and organised Legal Support Officer to provide comprehensive administrative support to Solicitors of the Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO) and assist with the smooth operation of their legal practice. Working as part of a small team and primarily within a digital environment, you will conduct a variety of support tasks such as undertaking searches related to legal matters, general office administration support including mail handling, scanning and photocopying, formatting and editing word processing documents, providing IT and systems support assistance and maintaining accurate electronic records within the CSO's record management system.
Strong Microsoft Word skills are highly desirable, particularly experience formatting legal documents such as contracts with numbered and lettered clauses.
About the Business
The Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO) provides legal services to government specifically to Ministers, departments and other public sector agencies. Within the Commercial, Environment, and Native Title Section (CENT), Solicitors provide legal services in relation to the full range of the government's commercial and land related activities and their environmental, planning and native title aspects. This includes providing legal advice, negotiation and document preparation on major government commercial projects.
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
