About the Role
We have been exclusively engaged to recruit a Payroll Lead to take ownership of our end-to-end payroll operations across Australia.
Reporting into the Head of Payroll, you'll lead a team of four and work closely with HR and Finance to deliver accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll services.
You'll also play a key role in driving automation, improving systems, and helping to create a true centre of excellence for payroll. This is the perfect role for someone who's confident leading a team, loves finding smarter ways to work, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead and mentor a payroll team
* Oversee accurate and timely payroll across multiple states and Awards/EBAs.
* Ensure full compliance with PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, FBT, and ATO requirements.
* Manage payroll tax, workers' comp, group tax, and end-of-month reporting.
* Drive continuous improvement through automation, system upgrades, and process digitisation.
* Collaborate with HR and Finance to deliver better reporting and workforce insights.
* Build strong relationships across the business and lead by example.
About YouYou're an experienced payroll leader who's just as comfortable managing a team as you are diving into the detail. You bring energy, initiative, and a solutions-focused mindset, and you're passionate about delivering a great experience for your people and the business.
You'll bring:
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance (PAYG, Super, FBT, etc.)
* Proven experience leading a payroll team in a complex, fast-paced environment
* Hands-on experience with SAP an advantage
* Solid understanding of Awards/EBAs and payroll reporting processes
* Great communication and stakeholder management skills
* A collaborative, proactive, and can-do attitude
* Media industry exposure is a plus
