About The Role
Work within our extensively experienced multi-disciplinary team, alongside Child and Family Health Nurses, to deliver appropriate care and support to families from birth. Services delivered across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Raymond Terrace, Port Stephen the Lower Mid North Coast, with appointments through home visits and clinic visits. Support those within the First 2000 Days Framework to ensure each child and family reach their full potential. Supported by Nurse Manager, Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Child and Family Health Nurses and the wider multi-disciplinary team. Orientation by experienced Social Workers with ongoing training as appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to families from birth, helping shape brighter beginnings.
* Deliver services across the specified regions through home and clinic visits.
* Ensure families are supported within the First 2000 Days Framework.
* Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team including nurses and consultants.
* Participate in orientation and ongoing training to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in social work, providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or an equivalent qualification.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel.
* Experience in maternal and infant mental health, working with new parents, families with children 0-5 and high risk, vulnerable families.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience engaging and providing parenting interventions to vulnerable parents within the context of parent and infant mental health, and ability to prioritise this caseload.
