Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our Supply Chain team.
Reporting to the Engineering & Supply Chain Manager, this role is responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of product and materials.
You will work closely with warehouse, sales and engineering teams to manage purchase orders, supplier communication, inbound logistics and inventory accuracy.
This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to build a long-term career in procurement and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Raise and manage purchase orders in line with demand and forecasts
Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost and delivery expectations are met
Monitor order confirmations, lead times and delivery performance
Coordinate inbound freight and liaise with warehouse regarding receipts and discrepancies
Maintain accurate pricing, supplier records and purchasing data within the ERP system
Assist with inventory planning and replenishment activities
Support the Engineering & Supply Chain Manager with supplier reviews and cost improvement initiatives
Assist with demand forecasting and stock level monitoring
Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures and controls
Key Requirements & Skills
Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role (1+ years preferred)
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines
Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Commercial awareness and ability to work with budgets and cost control
Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics desirable)
