Your new role
In this role, you will protect public health and support a safe, healthy and attractive environment for our community in line with statutory obligations, Council policies and procedures.
You will work directly with the community to protect, promote and improve public health while contributing to the Town's economic and social vitality.
What you'll need to succeed
* Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or other equivalent qualification suitable for appointment as an authorised officer under section 24 of Public Health Act 2016 and Section 87 & 88 of the Environmental Protection Act 1986.
* Sound knowledge of statutory provisions relating to environmental health.
* Sound administrative and organisational skills, with high attention to detail.
* Ability to take initiative while working autonomously in a busy environment.
* Flexibility to work on weekends and outside regular office hours.
* Working knowledge of processes, programs and policies relevant to environmental health.
* Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to build constructive working relationships.
* Current WA driver's licence.
