About the Position
We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter who is looking for a new challenge within a growing company. You will work at our new pallet business based in Morwell. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining site plant and equipment to high standards, enabling maximum production levels.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position aimed at achieving zero production downtime. We seek a self-motivated individual to join our team, working Monday – Friday day shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing breakdown and preventative maintenance on fixed and mobile plant equipment.
* Using sound judgment in maintenance decisions, prioritizing employee health and safety.
* Minimizing breakdown time through quick fixes and thorough repairs between shifts.
* Training employees and supervising on-site contractors to ensure safety procedures are followed.
* Using Maintenance Management Software (MMS) for reporting, stock monitoring, and downtime analysis.
* Conducting daily pre-start inspections of plant and equipment.
* Occasionally performing plant operator duties and assisting other trades with machinery operation.
To be successful, you will have:
* A qualification in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or relevant field.
* Experience as a maintenance fitter in a production or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
* Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
* Experience with maintenance planning or MMS is favorable.
* Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
* Self-motivation and a commitment to high-quality work.
* Adaptability for continuous process improvement.
* A forklift license and experience is advantageous.
