Senior Environmental Health Officer Job Description
This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Environmental Health professional to make a meaningful contribution to the City's environmental health initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting investigations, assessments and research to ensure compliance with Public and Environmental Health regulations. This includes addressing complex matters that require specialized expertise.
As a key member of the team, you will provide expert advice and support to internal and external stakeholders while delivering exceptional customer service.
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or equivalent qualifications approved by regulatory bodies.
* Authorised Person and Inspector certification for noise control under Environmental Protection Act 1986.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in environmental health risk management principles in Local Government.
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation including Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1911, Public Health Act 2016, Food Act 2008 and Environmental Protection Act 1986.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with ability to deliver high quality customer service.
* Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office suite and Local Government databases.
* Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to present findings and compile reports.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
* Mosquito management expertise is advantageous.
