Job Opportunity:
The Department of Human Services is seeking a Functional Analyst to join the Screening Transformation program, a two-year initiative aimed at modernising screening services for the future.
The Screening Transformation program will deliver an improved screening system to contribute to safeguarding vulnerable people, while providing a fair and robust process for people seeking to join the workforce or volunteer.
As a Functional Analyst, you will gain exposure to a multi-faceted program of work, using state-of-the-art process and data automation to review and improve operational efficiencies and enable more timely screening outcomes.
The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, assembling requirements, and documenting functional specifications for software development or process improvement areas within the program.
You will also be responsible for analysing business processes, workflows, and systems to identify improvement and/or automation opportunities and contribute to solutions that meet business requirements.
Key outcomes and accountabilities include gathering and documenting stakeholder needs, contributing to solution designs, data models, business rules, and process flows, and liaising between business stakeholders and technical teams.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and solutions.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or related field, and certifications such as Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Agile certifications are desirable.
Some out-of-hours work may be required. A National Police Check and Employment-related Screening Check are mandatory.
