Details: The National Arboretum Canberra is seeking an experienced and highly motivated candidate to fill the Horticultural Field Officer role within its dynamic team, based at the Arboretum. The successful candidate will report directly to the Arboretum's Horticultural Supervisors, and will be responsible for technical maintenance of the Arboretum's living collection.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
Mandatory
* Current driver's licence
* General Construction Induction (White card - CPCWHS1001) or willingness to obtain on commencement General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
* Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention (10830NAT) or willingness to obtain on commencement - For further information refer to: WorkSafe website
* Asbestos Awareness (11084NAT) or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required before commencement, for further information refer to: Asbestos Awareness Training - WorkSafe ACT
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration )
Desirable
* Certificate III or equivalent in horticulture
* Irrigation and water management experience/qualifications
* Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence
* Plant operator's licences
* Side by side all-terrain vehicle (ATV) licence
* Australian Qualification Framework Level three (AQF3) chemical accreditation
Other Requirements:
* First aid certificate or willingness to obtain
* Direct supervision of staff
