About the role
The IT Support Analyst plays a key role in delivering reliable, responsive and customer‑focused IT support across McColl's. This is a mid‑level position based at our Geelong head office and is suited to someone who can work independently across a broad range of support activities while collaborating closely with the wider technology team.
You will provide hands‑on support to our corporate and frontline workforce, ensuring incidents and service requests are logged, prioritised and resolved effectively. Although the role is primarily office‑based, occasional travel is required to support operational sites across regional Victoria.
Reporting to the General Manager Technology, this role focuses on end‑user computing, Microsoft cloud services, core business systems and network connectivity. You will work within an ITIL‑aligned service management framework and contribute to continuous service improvement through strong documentation, problem management and proactive support.
Key responsibilities:
* Providing Level 1 and Level 2 IT support to end-users across the business, resolving incidents and service requests via Freshservice in line with agreed SLAs
* Administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID (and Active Directory), Exchange, SharePoint, Teams and endpoint security features
* Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, including user account provisioning, access management and equipment allocation
* Configuring, deploying and supporting Windows PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones, including provisioning, imaging, patching and lifecycle management
* Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues across corporate offices and operational sites
* Providing hands‑on site support as required, including travel to regional locations across Victoria and interstate
* Assisting with the administration and support of network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networking and basic switching, working with vendors and senior engineers as required
* Maintaining accurate documentation, knowledge-base articles and asset records within Freshservice
* Applying ITIL principles to incident, problem, change and request management, contributing to continual service improvement initiatives
* Escalating complex issues appropriately and collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure timely resolution
* Engaging in problem-solving and requirements elicitation with operational teams
* Actively seeking mentorship and training to expand technical and soft skills
About you
We are looking to invest in a hands‑on and customer‑focused IT professional who enjoys solving problems and helping people get the most out of technology.
You are comfortable working primarily from the office, supporting users both remotely and on‑site, and travelling to operational locations when required.
You approach troubleshooting in an organised and systematic way, have a strong grasp of service management best practices, and are confident working on your own in a fast-paced support setting.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Hands‑on experience with Freshservice or a similar ITSM platform
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
* Good understanding of ITIL concepts and service management processes
* Demonstrated ability to administer and support Windows PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones
* Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems and user environments
* Clear communication skills and a customer‑first mindset
Ideally, you might also have:
* Experience supporting networking environments, including wireless networks and switching
* Experience supporting users across multiple sites or geographically dispersed operations
* Exposure to endpoint management and security tooling
* Experience working in the transportation or logistics industry
* Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft 365 or Windows endpoint certifications, or a willingness to work towards them
