This is an entry-level role for a Civil/Mechanical Engineer with opportunities to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design including new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions. This includes supporting engineering tasks with the aim of advancing knowledge of civil/structural/mechanical engineering principles, assisting with project research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and analysis, as well as supporting the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.
* Demonstrated interest in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.
* Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
* Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
* Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
