Your Roles and Responsibilities
This is a dynamic, client facing position that blends sales, relationship management and estimating. You'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, preparing accurate quotes and support the business in securing profitable work.
Business Development Key Responsibilities
These tasks focus on growing the company’s pipeline and identifying new opportunities.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients
* Identifying potential markets, sectors, or clients to target
* Attending networking events, industry functions, and client meetings
* Tracking market trends and competitor activity
* Developing strategies in consultation with Management to increase revenue and expand service offerings
* Managing CRM systems and maintaining accurate client data
Sales Key Responsibilities
This part of the role is about converting opportunities into signed work.
* Conducting site visits, scoping meetings, or client consultations
* Presenting solutions, pricing, and value propositions
* Preparing and delivering sales pitches or tender presentations
* Following up on quotes and proposals to close deals
* Meeting sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals
* Maintaining strong after‑sales relationships to encourage repeat business
Estimating Key Responsibilities
This is the technical and financial side—calculating costs and preparing quotes.
* Reviewing plans, drawings, specifications, and tender documents
* Negotiating terms, pricing, and contract conditions
* Conducting site assessments to understand scope and constraints
* Preparing accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
* Requesting and comparing supplier/subcontractor quotes
* Creating detailed proposals, quotes, and tender submissions
* Identifying risks, exclusions, and assumptions in pricing
* Working with project managers to ensure estimates align with delivery capabilities
* Updating cost databases and pricing models
* Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements
What You Bring
* Proven experience in a similar role (rectification works highly regarded).
* A knack for leadership, organisation, and communication .
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Trade background or relevant construction qualifications.
