Network and Server Operations Manager
Job Description:
In this key leadership role, you will oversee the delivery, integration, and sustainment of secure, high-performance ICT systems in support of Australian Defence Force mission planning capability. This involves managing both the technical direction and day-to-day operations of network and server environments across fixed and deployed Defence contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a team of technicians in the development, integration, and sustainment of software, hardware, data, tools, and processes for ADF mission planning systems in fixed and deployed environments.
* Conduct performance reviews, set team objectives, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
* Oversee the maintenance of physical server and networking hardware, ensuring high availability and performance.
* Manage the development and maintenance of system configurations for MPS laptops and servers.
* Coordinate the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of software and security updates.
* Provide technical leadership for resolving data support issues and ensuring mission systems meet operational requirements.
* Support Defence strategic networks, ensuring compliance with security and accreditation standards.
* Identify, manage, and mitigate program and technical risks within the operations scope.
* Review, verify, and enhance documentation for MPS development and sustainment.
* Foster collaboration with technical staff and client stakeholders to deliver innovative, secure ICT solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Defence ICT environments (including Defence Protected Environment (DPE) and Defence Secret Environment (DSE)), MS Windows Imaging, MS Windows security, MS Windows Server Platforms, Technical/Admin level experience with client operating systems from MS Windows 10 - 11, MS Windows Office products, Software Scripting, Defence ICT Security Accreditation requirements
