Since launching in 1998, Happy Travels has grown from a strong retail and hostel-based travel business into one of Australia's leading travel brands.

Today, we help thousands of traveller's plan and book trips across Australia and overseas, from custom East Coast itineraries and campervan road trips to group tours and multi-stop international travel experiences.

The business now spans retail, online sales, e-commerce, tour operations and travel technology, supported by our own customer journey process, CRM systems and booking platforms.

Our Head Office is based in Byron Bay, but Happy Travels operates with the pace, ambition and commercial focus of a much larger growth business. The Opportunity

As we move into our next phase of growth, we are looking for a commercially minded leader to take ownership of our Online Sales & Customer Experience division.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead the performance, operations and ongoing development of a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment. This includes working closely with Team Leaders, Senior Consultants, Conversion Specialists and the Campervan team to drive strong commercial outcomes and a consistently high standard of customer experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine influence across sales performance, customer experience, operational strategy and team development.

You will be responsible for driving conversion, improving operational efficiency, strengthening leadership capability and ensuring the division continues to scale effectively.

What You'll Be Responsible For

You will play a key role in:

* Driving revenue growth and sales performance across inbound channels
* Leading, coaching and developing high-performing sales and operational teams
* Building accountability, KPI visibility and clear performance standards
* Improving systems, workflows and operational processes across the division
* Supporting workforce planning, team structure and succession development
* Strengthening leadership capability across Team Leaders and senior team members
* Improving customer journey execution and service delivery standards
* Supporting strategic planning, reporting and business growth initiatives
* Creating a motivated, engaged and high-performing team culture

This role requires someone who can balance commercial outcomes with strong people leadership. You will need to drive accountability and performance while continuing to build a culture that people genuinely want to be part of.
