In this role, you'll:
Safely carry out duties associated with the welding and fabrication of ferrous and other metals, including marking out of work and structural grade welding.
The Metal Fabricator is responsible for:
* Safely completing welding and fabrication of ferrous and other metals.
* Performing a wide range of routine and complex labouring/manual tasks, including using a variety of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools to assist with the completion of work activities. Work is completed under limited supervision and may be done in a team environment or independently.
* Conducting safety checks on all plant and equipment used, complete basic maintenance such as refuelling and checking fluid and maintain records and reports to ensure the safe use of plant items.
* Guiding team members, leading the work output of a small unit as required, to develop capability and ensure team tasks are completed effectively.
This is an ongoing full-time role located at Bega.
TfNSW take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously therefore to be eligible for this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100 km radius to the Bega depot.

About you:
* You are a motivated Metal Fabricator that has hands on experience in metal fabrication including complex welding projects.
* You have successfully completed a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
* You hold a current Construction Industry White Card and a current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver's licence.
* The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to work independently and within a team environment.
* With a strong focus on safety, you have the ability to identify, communicate and report environmental hazards in the workplace and understand the quality requirements of the tasks to be performed within this position.
