The Haematology laboratory at Ipswich is looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated person to join the team as a Biomedical Scientist.
You will join the team of rotating Biomedical Scientist staff, contributing to all areas of Haematology laboratory diagnostic work and developing a broad range of skills.
You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and should preferably have experience of working at registrant level in a Haematology laboratory.
You will join a friendly and busy MHRA and UKAS compliant hospital laboratory who are committed to the training and development of our staff. We are IBMS accredited training laboratory for registration and specialist portfolios.
We are equipped with Grifols, Sysmex XNs and ACL TOPS analysers.

Responsibilities
Undertake testing and processing of biomedical specimens, analysis and entering of results onto the computer.
Work flexibly, may include an extended working day and/or participation in delivery of a 24-hour, 7-day-per-week service.
Supervise and/or train less experienced staff in own area of work and competency.
Maintain contact with human body fluids, tissues and hazardous chemicals such as blood, pus, urine, faeces, and respiratory secretions.
Maintain and promote a professional image of the Pathology Department.
