It also has one of the biggest ranges of agricultural industries in Australia. Reporting to the Local Editor, Rural Reporters are vital in bringing the characters and stories of these communities and industries to local and national audiences. The ways to tell these stories are ever-evolving; it could be presenting the Rural Report, an online story on Australia’s most trusted news website, a carefully crafted radio package on the South Australian Country Hour or even an Instagram story. The Job Create and present rural content for multiple platforms. Support planning and commissioning of new content. Develop local rural stories for ABC teams. Assist with Local Emergency Coverage and stakeholder communication. Produce diverse stories reflecting Australia’s communities. Engage communities to find relevant stories. This role is best suited to a self-driven team player, who’s creative, highly organised, and has a knack for chatting to anyone and everyone. You'll have: Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience. Creative content delivery and live broadcast experience. Strong story judgement A clear understanding of the issues facing the agricultural and primary industries and how they affect the community.
