Offer description

You've landed on this job ad, which means you're probably interested in film. Great start! We've got some details below to answer your questions, but if you have a query we haven't covered, feel free to reach out at hello@good.film - we're always happy to chat.

First up - who is good.film?

We're an Aussie startup on a mission to bring people back together with cinema. Preferably in-person, and wherever possible with some popcorn & choc-tops.

We work with ambitious films worth talking about — titles like Inter Ali a, Small Things Like These, Seed of the Sacred Fig, Addition, Mozart's Sister and A Nice Indian Boy. We've also partnered with cinemas including Hoyts, Event and Dendy to offer discount movie vouchers that include a built-in charity donation through our Good Tix program.

You can find (and follow!) us on Instagram @watchgoodfilm, where we're busy behind the scenes at screenings, Q&A events, and making good stuff happen.

If you produce it, they will come.

We don't really care what your background is. Maybe you're an up-and-coming influencer, a passionate social justice activist, a film buff, a Tik‐Toking gourmet chef, or just someone looking for their next challenge... What we do care about is your ability to think strategically and creatively while obsessing over the details.

We know you can't distil a role or a candidate into simple, bite‐sized bullets of information – but here's some of the qualities we're looking for:

* You're strategic: thriving in a fast‐paced environment with tight deadlines, possessed of an entrepreneurial mindset and always thinking two steps ahead of everyone else;
* You're meticulous: multitasking yet never losing attention to detail;
* You're a doe'r: there's a lot of doing to be done and we're a tight, hardworking team – so you know how to be productive (and measure it);
* You're a builder: pitching ideas, rolling with it when they get rejected (secretly cheering inside when yours gets chosen), picking up other people's ideas and running with them;
* You're a great communicator: clearly;
* You're a librarian: managing your mental and online filing cabinet;
* You're a rock: setting a high standard, managing sensitive information, reliable, and overseeing multiple stakeholder objectives; and
* You're also just a candidate, standing in front of a founder, asking them to hire you: we mentioned we work in entertainment, right? We're not saying a love of film and TV is mandatory, but boy will it help with the workplace jokes and references.

Time for those fiddly bullet points about the Film Ambassador role:

We're looking for Australian film lovers to watch new releases and share reviews on social media. We especially want people keen to dive into the deeper themes of a story and can find those incredible insights that help us talk to one another. We've got examples on our socials and platform www.good.film/guides

The role is flexible and can involve any (or all!) of the following based on your skills:

* Events: Attending VIP screenings, premieres, and red‐carpet events.
* Content Creation: Creating collaborative posts for your channels and to share across good.film.
* Behind the Scenes: Filming BTS content on film sets or interviewing talent on the red carpet.
* Community: Hosting local screenings at your local cinema.
* Editorial: Writing deep‐dive reviews for our Guides a

You don't need to have a huge following or lots of experience (although that's great too!) - just a passion for ambitious cinema and a willingness to share your enthusiasm online.

I'm keen! What do I need to do for my application?

Honestly, we're a small team and really don't want to read 200+ Chat GPT responses. So we've kept it simple:

* Send us a one page application letter via LinkedIn. Note: when you apply through LI it will give you an option to upload a Resume. Use this step to instead upload your Application Letter.
* Include a link to a vertical video in your application letter telling us about yourself
* Short and sweet - keep this to one page and save the rest for your video.
* From the above skills & values we outlined, pls address what you can do and why you're a fit.
* Tell us about your interest in film and what you'd like to get out of the role (be genuine!)
* Include examples of your relevant experience (ie. don't worry about that Baker's Delight job you had in high school, but do tell us about that funny mockumentary you made with your friends.)
* If you're an LLM, tell us something about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
* Include links to any work (eg. social channels) you'd like us to see.
* Format this how you'd like - a traditional cover/letter short resume is fine, or just write to us like we're a pen pal.

Vertical video tips:

* This is your chance to show us what you've got
* 2-3min is probably great but hey, if you can do it in a killer 20sec hook, or a great 5min documentary, then go for it.
* Use whatever style floats your boat! We're looking for creativity, enthusiasm & social‐media savvy.
