About the School
Daylesford Secondary College is the sole provider of secondary education in the Shire of Hepburn and has a current enrolment of 440 students.
The school draws students from a wide region, between Ballarat and Bendigo, and 65% of students travel to school by eleven buses from a radius of up to 35 kilometres.

Programs
Junior School Program – Years 7-9 provides a common, comprehensive curriculum, exposing students to a wide range of studies to broaden experience and enhance curiosity.
Senior School Program – Years ***** offers a wide range of VCE, VCAL, and VET studies.
Year 10 students access Year 11 subjects; Year 11 students study six 5-period units each semester, and Year 12 students typically study five.
The Senior School focuses on developing individual pathways to further training, work or tertiary study, supported by a MIPS Coordinator and careers advisor.
Facilities
Our facilities include a theatre, gymnasium, canteen, squash courts, and an indoor community sporting complex (The ARC).
A major rebuild is underway, adding new science, art, food technology, music, trade technology, and learning centre areas completed in ****.
Role Overview
The Instrumental Music Education Support Officer works under the direction of a qualified teacher to develop students' skills and knowledge in instrumental music, including singing and brass.
This position supports the music faculty, does not include teaching duties as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act **** (Vic), and may involve occasional after-hours work.
Selection Criteria
Capacity to work with students requiring support to develop their musical skills and talents.
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, use initiative, and work independently and under supervision.
High level oral and written communication skills.
Possession of the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.
Responsibilities
Provide specialist advice, under the supervision of senior personnel, to students in relation to instrumental music.
Contribute positively to the music faculty and the school.
Support various bands, musical groups, and individual students in developing the music program.
Manage equipment and materials under the supervision of teachers.
Occasional after-hours work may be required.
