Commercial Manager Projects Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Manager Projects to support our business in delivering successful outcomes for our customers, employees, and local communities.

The Commercial Manager Projects plays a crucial role within the organisation, providing support to contract owners across the projects team. This critical role involves overseeing key contract outcomes, ensuring our teams have the services they need to maximise revenue opportunities and drive sustainable growth and profitability.

About the Role

* This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in the commercial sector, with a focus on category management, procurement, and contract negotiation.
* As a Commercial Manager Projects, you will be responsible for developing and executing category plans, leading negotiations on high-impact supply arrangements, and identifying and managing commercial risks.
* You will also provide expert commercial advice to stakeholders and support contract owners in contract management, ensuring compliance with commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

* Develop, lead and execute category plans based on research and analysis to optimise value-for-money outcomes that meet stakeholder needs and business expectations.
* Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise outcomes.
* Lead negotiations on high-impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better commercial outcomes.
* Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on our business.
* Provide expert commercial advice to key stakeholders.
* Support contract owners in contract management, e.g. management of payment claims and invoicing to ensure compliance with the commercial agreement.

Requirements

* An undergraduate degree in commerce, economics, law, engineering, business, or relevant disciplines.
* Post-graduate qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, finance, law or management (desired).
* A minimum of 10 years of senior supply chain/category management experience.
* A minimum of 5 years of project or mine services experience in contractor-operated open-cut mining.
* Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, strategy and analysis, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
