Overview
This role is part of the ParentsNext program, a government initiative to support eligible parents in planning and preparing for employment by the time their children go to school.
The program operates in all non-remote areas of Australia.
This important role works with disadvantaged parents to help them prepare for their return to the workforce.
You will assist parents in setting education and employment goals, developing a pathway plan, and linking them to services and activities in the local community.
The Opportunity
* Empower our customers by identifying individual education and employment goals
* Provide career advice and labour market information on local employment and education opportunities
* Collaboratively identify strategies to meet individual needs using a holistic approach
* Engage with the local community to build relationships and coordinate referrals to community agencies
* Assist customers in applying for jobs, developing CVs, preparing for interviews, understanding employer expectations, and building employability skills
About You
* Build relationships within the community through effective communication and interpersonal skills
* A high level of organisational skills and commitment to customer service is essential for success
* An empathetic approach and ability to build trust and rapport are critical in this role
* Effective problem-solving skills are necessary
* Holding or being able to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People or Children Check is required
* A current driver's licence is also required
