Job Opportunity:
This is an exciting chance to be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides mental health and discipline-specific assessment, intervention and care coordination to young people and their families in the community with complex mental health needs who are in contact with the criminal justice system.
The Mental Health Clinician role involves community outreach support for young people and families, potentially including afterhours and/or weekend work as part of a broader team Safeguards roster. This dynamic role requires adaptability, strong communication, and collaboration skills to effectively meet the diverse needs of our clients.
The primary goal of this position will be to develop, implement, and provide evidence-based, trauma-informed and culturally and developmentally appropriate assessment and treatment to both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal children and adolescents in acute mental health distress, and their families.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide community outreach support for young people and families
* Develop, implement, and provide evidence-based, trauma-informed and culturally and developmentally appropriate assessment and treatment
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in occupational therapy, social work, counselling, or psychology
* General registration with relevant professional boards
* Valid unrestricted driver's licence for use in NSW and Australia
* Ability to work extended hours during the week and on weekends
