The HR Advisor will provide end to end generalist HR support across the business. Working as part of a small HR team, the role will cover employee relations, recruitment, and HR administration. Acting as a trusted first point of contact for managers and employees while ensuring HR processes are legally compliant, practical, and people focused.This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
* Provide first line and ongoing HR advice to managers and employees on day to day people matters.
* Monitor absence levels and ensure active attendance management across the business.
* Support managers with investigations, hearings, and meetings, including note taking where required.
* Identify emerging people issues and proactively advise on solutions.
* Support the full recruitment lifecycle.
* Monitoring key recruitment metrics such as retention rates, time to fill, and cost per hire.
* Maintain accurate and up to date employee records and HR systems.
* Prepare and issue HR documentation, including contracts, offer letters, variations, and leavers' paperwork.
* Support payroll processes by ensuring timely and accurate data changes (starters, leavers, changes).
* Ensure all employees are aware of and understand the policies through onboarding, training, and accessible documentation.
* Act as a professional, approachable point of contact for HR queries.
* Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as required (e.g. engagement, wellbeing, culture).
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a generalist human resources role, preferably within horticulture/logistics/FMCG industry.
* Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Bright HR.
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
* Confident communicator, able to build trust with managers and employees.
* Experience with data entry, and record keeping is advantageous.
* Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
* Previous experience in payroll administration is desirable.
