Regional Peer Support Worker - Lived Experience
Join the NEW Peach Tree Team in Townsville & make a real difference in the lives of parents.
Peach Tree is entering an exciting period of growth and building teams in new sites across Queensland
We are looking for perinatal mental health lived experience (peer) workers to support parents, partners and families during the pregnancy and early parenthood.
As a Peer Support Worker you will facilitate group programs, offering trauma-informed support in a non-judgmental, child-friendly space where parents can feel heard, understood and empowered to focus on their health and wellbeing.
This role is permanent and part-time.
Hours: flexible part-time during Monday-Friday; occasional evening or Saturday work is allowed only as an exception.
Hourly rate: $XX per hour (plus superannuation).

What You'll Do
Facilitate specialised groups and programs focusing on mental health, wellbeing and parenting.
Welcome people with warmth and empathy, ensuring a respectful and inclusive environment.
Create empowering settings for expecting parents to navigate their healing journey, providing information and supportive pathways.
Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality with personal stories and information.
Discuss available services with parents and collaborate with the team to reduce engagement barriers.
Keep accurate records of service data and complete administrative tasks as required.
What We're Looking For
Personal lived experience of perinatal mental health challenges, accompanied by service use experiences and personal healing.
Training in Trauma-Informed Care or Peer Support highly desirable a strong commitment to learning and mentorship is essential.
Strong communication, empathy and relationship-building skills.
A solutions-focused mindset, initiative and the ability to resolve problems with courage and conviction.
Optimism that helps contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain one; Whooping cough vaccination.
